Treasure Hunting & Castle Dreams

Just ten kilometers from our château, in the charming town of Arlon, something special happens every first Sunday of the month.

The streets fill with one of the largest brocante markets in the region — a beautiful world somewhere between art and kitsch. A place where memories are laid out on tables, where you never quite know what you’ll find… except that it might touch your heart.

There is nothing more delightful than wandering through the narrow streets, slowly browsing among boxes, old books, porcelain, mirrors, paintings, and forgotten treasures. As a child, I adored little boxes and tiny booklets. Maybe that’s why this market always feels like coming home.

We find so many beautiful pieces here for our house — objects with soul, pieces with a past. Things that seem to whisper their story before they even find their place.

And Pascal… you truly can’t make him happier than by setting him free here. He arrives first and leaves last. With an incredible eye, he uncovers hidden gems in the dust. He sees what something can become. He feels what is right.

Sometimes music drifts through the market — someone testing an old guitar, an accordion, a piano that still carries a melody. He cannot resist. He plays. He listens. He absorbs.

For him, this brocante is not just a market. It is a source of inspiration, a treasure chest where his creativity awakens. And every time he returns home, he carries more than objects with him — he carries new ideas, new stories, and that quiet spark in his eyes that means something beautiful is about to be created.
